quick poll. honesty required.

I'm thinking about applying for this job:

Family Services Division: Domestic Violence Section

The Family Services Division of the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia is seeking a trial attorny for its Domestic Violence Section. The trial attorney will represent surviors of domestic violence in all aspects of civil protection order litigation, from initial entry of the orders to contempt enforcement.

The Domestic Violence Section consists of a section chief, three domestic violence attorneys, and one attorney who represent Adult Protective Services. The domestic violence attorneys maintain a full trial caseload and are typically in court four days each week.

The successful candidate must have a law degree and be a member of the District of Columbia Bar or eligible for waiver into the bar. The candidate should also have a demonstrated commitment to work in the area of family violence including but not limited to clinical training or actual practice.

Would i make it, or would i be a screaming, miserable failure?

Seriously. Comment away, y'all, and be straight with me. It's a hugely different and scary thing, but it also sounds like sort of exactly what i meant to do when i decided to go to law school in the first place. What i DON'T want is to end up in a job i not only loathe but am also terrible at, in the name of following a mission. What do you think?

Currently listening to: My iPod on "shuffle," which is seriously ADD today. From "Lonely People" straight to "Boat Drinks." I suppose another way to look at it is Problem --> Solution.

Currently reading: An Unexpected Light, which is unexpectedly dense and therefore forcing me to read it in small chunks. Well, that, and my propensity to want to sit on my ass and drool at my television instead of engaging in any sort of mentally stimulating activity.

Currently hating: The fucking gnat that has been hovering around my desk and my eyeballs all day. Also the vending machine upstairs, which is out of Fritos. And Monday.
