ideas for something that will never happen.

1) Elvis impersonator.
2) cheeseburgers.
3) fireworks.
4) no staged pictures.

#3 is non-negotiable.

crossing the great divide.

So. I've accepted it. I've made my peace. I've come to terms. I bought a country CD. Not alt.country, not "Americana," not folk. Actual country music. Josh Turner, to be specific.

And i love it.

My inner country girl will out, i suppose. My street cred is preserved, though, by the fact that i am flying to Michigan to see Guns 'N' Roses. Although my love for Axl is pure and true, untainted by irony, which may in fact further chip away at said street cred.

Oh well. I'm a dork and i'm proud!!

And i'm a dork who's got FLOOR SEATS TO GUNS 'N' FUCKIN' ROSES, y'all!!

eureka

You know why i like Mr. Big so much?

He encourages cussin'. I don't mean, like, at little old ladies or the top of one's voice, but it's so relaxing to go to lunch with someone and drop the f-bomb and not have to worry that i have scandalized my dining companion.

Also, it's damn nice to be charmed every once in a while.

save the cheerleader, save the world.

My recap for last week's Heroes is up. Read and love, y'all.

Seriously, this is the first recap that i've felt unreservedly proud of. I think it's just taken a little bit for the show to settle into its rhythm (and me to get in synch with it, too), but they've done it.

Last night's episode? So. Awesome. LOVE.

So. Go you to Fandom Talk and read. Discuss. Leave feedback (i've got thick skin; feel free to criticize). Yay Heroes!!

listy

Seven things that really brass me off:

1) My coffee mug is thisclose to being big enough to hold two K-cups of coffee + the requisite amount of milk. Thisclose, but not close enough. So every morning, i have to make coffee. Add milk. Sip hesitantly so as not to burn my tongue. Add more milk. Sip. Repeat until proper mixture achieved. Grr.

2) People on the Metro who perkily say "excuse me!" as we pull into Dupont, even though i am clearly adjusting my bag and preparing to get off the train myself. Sorry, bitch, i'm not letting you off in front of me just because you asked politely. We're all late for work.

3) Not having the kittens in DC.

4) The size of the shelf at the self-checkout at my Giant, which is juuust big enough to lull you into thinking you can set your cart on it, but not quite big enough to actually balance said cart, sending the cart—and all your apples—skittering across the floor as soon as you let go of it long enough to scan your box of Cheez-Its.

5) People in the grocery store who don't help you pick up those apples.

6) Not being in charge of the length of time it takes me to get to work each morning.

7) The ratings for Studio 60 and Friday Night Lights.

Seven things that make me a happy girl:

1) KITTENS!!

2) My fall TV viewing schedule.

3) The fact that i get free coffee at work.

4) Yoplait Thick & Creamy Lowfat Yogurt, blueberries & cream flavor.

5) GUNS 'N' fuckin' ROSES at the Auburn Hills Palace on Nov. 25, 2006.

6) The comment we got over at tvsluts from the inimitable Jacob from TWoP. (I'm still swooning!)

7) That box of Cheez-Its. It was the last one in the store.
