such bad news.

I found out today that one of my family's skiff-racing friends was killed at the race in Port Deposit this weekend. Without getting into details, his death was absolutely heartbreaking and horrifyingly tragic. I'm really sad and shaken up and am having trouble even thinking about it. I'm not sure if or when we'll be racing again; i certainly don't think the JS-3 will see water until some substantial safety modifications are made for the skiff class. This fucking sucks, and my heart goes out to Paul's family and friends.
